CEO Circles

As a nonprofit leader, where do you turn when you need clarity, guidance, a sounding board, encouragement, accountability, and wisdom? Who are your trusted advisers? CEO Circles is designed to surround you with peers who are diverse in voice and perspective: respected leaders who are as interested in professional growth and expanding their capacity as you are. This is time carved out for you to reflect and be challenged, whether working through your own or your peers’ business dilemmas. Confidentiality and inclusion are fundamental commitments by each participant.

Powerful Support for Nonprofit Leaders

CEO Circles consist of 10-15 nonprofit executives. Membership is by application only and is open to both Nonprofits First members and nonmembers. Acceptance into a CEO Circle includes these and more:

  • One year of monthly facilitated sessions with nonprofit executive peers from diverse backgrounds and missions (includes continental breakfast)
  • One 30-minute individual coaching session with the facilitator

“Forming a support network is critical for a nonprofit CEO. You need a group of peers to bounce ideas off of, help you think through problems and solutions, and sometimes just share a laugh. Nonprofits First's program offers all of that!”

Sharon L’Herrou, CEO
211 of Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast

CEO Circles Facilitator

Karen Hilo has served in the nonprofit sector as CEO, COO, CDO, and CFO. Sea Level Consulting LLC provides consulting services across these areas of expertise. Karen is an International Coaching Federation-credentialed executive coach, and she designs and delivers professional development workshops. She considers herself just one of the valued contributors in these groups.

“As C-level execs, we may check in with peers to pick their brains, vent, and maybe ask a question, all of which is quick and helpful. But our own long-range development requires deeper reflection, and reflection takes time. CEO Circles captures the best of those relationships, while diving below the surface for long-lasting, personal growth.”
